Overview
The YMCA of Frederick County operates beautiful Camp West Mar, a 72-acre Overnight and Day Camp in the foothills of the stunning Catoctin Mountains. We are ecstatic to have the opportunity to host our summer camps in this incredible location. YMCA Camp West Mar gives campers an amazing opportunity to both experience the rugged beauty of the Catoctin Mountains and have the exciting camp experience we all dreamed of as kids.
At Camp West Mar, kids get to discover all the wonders of the outdoors while making friends and forming memories that will last a lifetime. An overnight camp experience helps children grow in the areas of leadership, responsibility, building relationships, communication, participation, and much more.

Welcome Message
Victoria Anderson, Camp Director
I grew up in the state of Minnesota, where I learned to explore and appreciate all the outdoors has to offer - in all weather conditions! With a Bachelor’s of Science in Parks, Recreation and Leisure Studies from the University of Minnesota and a Master’s of Education in Natural Sciences and Environmental Education from Hamline University, I believe shared experiences in the outdoors are foundational for building community.
