Overview
CAMP GO BeYOND is a free, week-long camp experience where children ages 7-17 diagnosed with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD): Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis, can have fun in a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment. Created in 2001 by Dr. Mel Heyman and managed by IBD Summer Camp Foundation, a 501 c(3) non-profit group started by physicians and nurses at UCSF Children's Hospital.
At CAMP GO BeYOND, children with IBD can relax and have fun with kids their age who also have IBD, supervised by counselors with IBD, and a medical staff that specializes in IBD. Camp is a memorable and life-changing experience that encourages kids to return every year.
Made possible by generous donations, camp has been free for all campers since its inception.
